Advance Voting Begins for Polling Personnel in Bankura Ahead of April 23 Polling
Ahead of the first phase of West Bengal Assembly elections on April 23, polling personnel in Bankura district have begun casting their votes in advance through facilitation centers set up at training venues.
Bankura district Election in-charge Ananya Jena said that all 12 assembly constituencies in the district will go to polls on April 23 and preparations are progressing smoothly. She noted that the third phase of training for polling personnel is currently underway, alongside advance voting arrangements for election staff.
Jena also said that absentee voters are being enabled to vote from their homes, while confidence-building measures are being carried out in vulnerable pockets and hamlets to ensure peaceful polling.
Polling officer Uttam Kumar Majhi, who cast his vote in advance, said he opted to vote early because he will be on election duty on polling day. He added that the arrangements at the facilitation center were well organized, with short queues and smooth voting procedures.
