Citing the worsening security situation in West Asia, Air India has officially announced the suspension of all scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv, Israel, until May 31, 2026. The national carrier issued the statement early this morning after a series of missile strikes targeted major Israeli cities, including areas near the Ben Gurion International Airport. This move follows a similar advisory from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, urging Indian citizens to avoid non-essential travel to the region.

The suspension has left hundreds of Indian students and professionals currently in Israel in a state of uncertainty. Air India has stated that it is working with the government to organize special evacuation flights if the situation necessitates a full-scale “Operation Kaveri-style” extraction. Passengers with existing bookings are being offered a one-time waiver on rescheduling or full refunds, as the airline monitors the airspace safety protocols in coordination with international aviation bodies.
