T. V. Somanathan on Monday chaired a key meeting in New Delhi to discuss issues concerning central government employees.
The 49th meeting of the National Council of the Joint Consultative Machinery was held at Seva Teerth under the chairmanship of the cabinet secretary, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
During the meeting, Somanathan observed that regular discussions under the Joint Consultative Machinery framework had helped resolve several employee-related concerns and grievances over time.
He noted that the consultative process had also contributed to revisions in official instructions and guidelines aimed at improving the welfare and service conditions of government employees.
The Joint Consultative Machinery serves as a platform for dialogue between the government and employee representatives on matters related to service conditions, workplace concerns, and administrative reforms.
Officials said the meeting included discussions on various pending issues affecting employees and measures intended to strengthen coordination and grievance redressal mechanisms.
The government emphasised the importance of continued engagement and constructive dialogue to ensure smoother administration and improved employee satisfaction within central government departments.
