Eleven Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash After Suspected Brake Failure in Mirzapur district
At least eleven people, including children, were killed in a tragic multi-vehicle collision in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district after a truck allegedly suffered brake failure, police said on Thursday.
According to officials, the accident took place around 8:30 PM on Wednesday. Police and fire brigade teams rushed to the scene immediately and launched rescue operations with assistance from local residents.
Aparna Rajat Kaushik said the collision occurred on a road descending from the Dramandganj valley towards the Lasoda area.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a truck travelling downhill experienced brake failure and crashed into another truck moving ahead of it, triggering a chain collision involving multiple vehicles.
Authorities are continuing rescue and recovery efforts, while a detailed investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident.
