CRPF on high alert as Secretariat shifts from Jammu to Srinagar

Security has been significantly intensified along National Highway 44 in Ramban as part of precautionary measures ahead of the biannual Darbar Move, which involves the relocation of government offices, employees, and official records from Jammu to Srinagar.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), particularly its 84 Battalion, has ramped up deployment across the highway, a critical route for the movement of official convoys.

Commandant N. Ranbir Singh stated that the battalion is maintaining a high level of preparedness. “84 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force is deployed in Ramban and our preparedness is on high alert,” he said.

NH-44 serves as the lifeline connecting Jammu with Srinagar, making it a strategic corridor during the Darbar Move. Enhanced security arrangements include increased patrols, vehicle checks, and surveillance to ensure the safe transit of officials and sensitive materials.

Authorities have taken these steps to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure the smooth execution of the administrative transition.
