New regulations for Uber and Ola…!

New regulations are to be brought for companies like Uber and Ola operating in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the state cabinet. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The cabinet also approved a bill to amend the state motor vehicle rules.

According to the new rule, companies operating vehicles in the state must register and obtain a license. A fee of Rs. 5,000 has been fixed for the application. The registration fee is Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 5 lakh will be paid for obtaining the license. A fee of Rs. 5,000 will be charged for renewing this license once every 5 years.

Further, medical examination and police verification will be made mandatory for vehicle drivers. The state government is planning to develop a new mobile app to record all the information. Through these measures, the government is trying to regulate private taxi services.
