A digital-first, door-to-door census exercise has commenced in Bhubaneswar and across Odisha as part of preparations for Census 2027. Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das said that over 3,000 enumerators are actively engaged in collecting data from households using digital tools, marking a shift toward a more technology-driven census process.

She urged residents to cooperate with officials and provide accurate information, emphasising that the data collected will play a crucial role in planning welfare schemes and development initiatives. The exercise is part of a nationwide effort to modernise census operations and ensure more efficient and reliable data collection.
