Chhattisgarh Boiler Blast Claims 9 Lives, Over 40 Workers Suffer Burns
At least 9 workers were killed and more than 40 others injured in a boiler explosion at a Vedanta power plant in Chhattisgarh’s Sakti district on Monday. The incident occurred at the plant located in Singhanterai village in the Dabhra block, where several workers suffered severe burn injuries, with eight reported to be in critical condition.
The injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, while police and administrative teams launched immediate rescue and relief operations at the site. Superintendent of Police Prafull Thakur said the exact cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, and an investigation is currently underway.
