8 Devotees Killed in Road Accident Near Mantralayam

At least eight devotees, including five women, lost their lives and several others were injured after a goods vehicle carrying pilgrims collided head-on with a tanker near Mantralayam in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district on April 16.

The devotees were travelling for darshan of Sri Raghavendra Swamy when the vehicle, carrying 16 passengers, crashed into the tanker, causing a devastating accident. According to Yemmiganur Deputy Superintendent of Police N. Bhargavi, eight people died on the spot, while the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident as rescue and relief operations continue.
