The All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday said its fact-finding teams had visited three districts in West Bengal where party workers were allegedly attacked after the Assembly elections.

According to party leaders, the teams were sent to South 24 Parganas district, Purba Medinipur district, and Hooghly district to collect information regarding alleged violence and intimidation faced by party supporters.

The TMC alleged that its workers were targeted by what it described as “BJP-backed goons” following the party’s electoral setback in the recently concluded Assembly elections.

Party representatives said the teams interacted with local workers, reviewed complaints, and gathered details regarding incidents of alleged attacks, vandalism, and intimidation in the affected areas.

The development comes after the TMC suffered a major defeat in the Assembly polls, winning only 80 out of the state’s 294 Assembly seats.

Senior party leaders have recently called for rebuilding the organisation and strengthening grassroots networks following the electoral setback. TMC leaders have also accused rival political groups of attempting to weaken the party through post-election violence and pressure tactics.

The BJP has not officially responded to the latest allegations made by the Trinamool Congress regarding the incidents.
