KOLKATA: The West Bengal government will extend all possible assistance to Durga Puja organisers in Kolkata and across the state, a senior official of the Forum for Durgotsav, an apex platform representing community puja organisers, said on Monday.

Two officials from the Forum recently met Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari at the state secretariat, where the Chief Minister assured them that the government would provide all possible support for the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations.

Senior Forum member Partha Ghosh said the Chief Minister made it clear that the festival would be held and that the government would extend the necessary support to organisers.

The assurance is expected to provide clarity to community puja committees as preparations for one of West Bengal’s biggest annual festivals get underway across Kolkata and other parts of the state.
