Orange Alert Issued as IMD Warns of Very Heavy Rain in Four Regions
The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange warning for East Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Madhya Pradesh, with heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning expected across several parts of the country over the next two days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall over East Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Madhya Pradesh today.
The weather department has also forecast heavy rainfall over Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Vidarbha, Assam and Meghalaya through tomorrow. The widespread rainfall is expected to keep several regions on alert for weather-related disruptions.
The IMD said thunderstorms and lightning will continue over Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh until tomorrow.
Similar thunderstorm and lightning conditions are expected over Odisha, Puducherry, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Gujarat, parts of Northeast India, Lakshadweep and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next two days.
Meanwhile, Delhi is likely to experience a spell of light rainfall at many places during the evening, with residents advised to remain attentive to local weather updates.
