LPG Supply Stable in Sikkim, Backlog Reduced to Just 1.46 Days
The supply and distribution of LPG cylinders in Sikkim remain stable, with the current backlog limited to just 1.46 days, according to official sources. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, in coordination with the state government and LPG distributors, is closely monitoring supply chains to ensure uninterrupted availability of cooking gas across the region.
Officials said over 5,000 LPG bookings are currently pending, while the average daily delivery stands at 3,618 cylinders, helping keep delays minimal. Adequate stock levels are being maintained at bottling plants and storage facilities to meet household demand.
To support students, migrant workers, and temporary residents who lack regular LPG connections or passbooks, 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders are being made available through select distributors in Gangtok district. Additionally, district administrations are publishing daily LPG distribution schedules through digital platforms to improve public awareness and help consumers plan their refills efficiently.
