Lightning, Gusty Winds Likely Along with Heavy Rainfall
Eastern, northeastern, and southern regions to receive showers; heat persists in parts of Andhra Pradesh
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall activity across several parts of the country today.
Heavy rainfall is expected over states in the northeast such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, along with eastern regions including Jharkhand, Odisha, and sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Rainfall is also likely in Sikkim and southern regions such as Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, as well as coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected across parts of northern and central India, including Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gangetic West Bengal.
Meanwhile, hot and humid conditions are likely to persist in parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh despite the rainfall activity elsewhere.
Authorities have advised residents in affected regions to stay alert for sudden weather changes, especially during thunderstorms.
