Hot and Humid Weather to Continue in South and East India

The India Meteorological Department has forecast heatwave conditions over northwest and central parts of India during the next three days, after which temperatures are expected to ease.

According to the IMD, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi are likely to witness heatwave conditions till tomorrow.

The agency has also predicted hot and humid weather in isolated pockets of Odisha tomorrow and in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal till Wednesday.

Additionally, isolated warm night conditions are likely over Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

The weather department further forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya tomorrow.

Thunderstorm activity is also expected across East India during the next one week.
