Heavy Rain Warning for Northeast; Delhi on Alert
India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall across the northeastern region today, warning residents to remain cautious amid adverse weather conditions.
The weather agency said Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Bihar and Jharkhand are also likely to witness thundersquall conditions today.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are forecast over Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Kerala, Mahe, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha over the next two days.
Similar weather conditions are expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Coastal Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the same period.
The IMD has also warned of hot and humid conditions over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal for the next two days.
