Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Likely Till April 30
In Jharkhand, weather conditions remain sharply contrasting, with some districts facing intense heat while several others are witnessing rain, hailstorms, and lightning activity.
The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for April 28, 29 and 30, warning of thunderstorms, strong winds, and heavy rainfall in many districts. Wind speeds during the period may reach 50 to 60 kmph.
During the past 24 hours, Daltonganj recorded the highest maximum temperature at 44.9°C, while Namkum registered the minimum temperature at 22°C.
Sundarpahari received 60.2 mm of rainfall, while Dumka and Giridih also experienced heavy rain along with hailstorms.
In the capital Ranchi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40.2°C and the minimum at 24.6°C, leading to humid and uncomfortable conditions.
The weather department has advised residents to remain alert, avoid open areas during lightning strikes, and stay indoors or in safe shelters during adverse weather.
