Heatwave Alert Across Central India, Thunderstorm Warning for Northern States
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heatwave conditions across several parts of the country, including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, North Interior Karnataka, and Rayalaseema for today. The weather agency has also issued an orange alert for thunderstorms accompanied by hailstorms over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
According to IMD, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, parts of the Northeast, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Rajasthan till tomorrow. Similar weather conditions are expected in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Karnataka, and Punjab today.
In addition, hot and humid conditions are predicted over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Gujarat, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, as varying weather patterns continue across the country.
