Health Dept. Issues Heatwave Advisory as Temperatures Touch 38°C
KOLKATA: Despite the rain forecast, the West Bengal Health Department has issued a heatwave advisory for the daytime hours. With temperatures recorded at 38°C in districts like Bankura and Purulia, and high humidity in Kolkata, the state has urged people to avoid outdoor activities between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Special “Cooling Centers” have been set up near polling booths to assist voters and election officials who are currently conducting door-to-door awareness campaigns.
