A Marshall Islands-flagged LPG carrier, MT Sarv Shakti, carrying 46,313 metric tonnes of India-bound liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), has safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz amid heightened regional tensions.

The vessel, with 20 crew members onboard—including 18 Indians—is expected to arrive at Visakhapatnam on May 13, according to official sources.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways confirmed that all Indian seafarers operating in the region are safe, with no incidents reported involving Indian-flagged vessels.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs continues to closely monitor developments in the Gulf and West Asia region, focusing on ensuring the safety and welfare of Indian nationals and maritime operations.

The safe passage of the vessel is seen as a positive sign amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainties affecting global shipping routes.
