Actor Sonali Kulkarni was stranded for nearly six hours in a massive traffic jam on the Mumbai–Pune route following a construction accident in the city.
The disruption was triggered after a piling rig collapsed at an under-construction flyover site in the Mankhurd area, resulting in the death of a police constable and causing severe congestion across Mumbai’s eastern suburbs.
Kulkarni shared her experience through a video on Instagram, which has since gone viral. In the clip, she showed a long queue of vehicles stretching across the road and expressed frustration over the lack of information from authorities regarding the clearance of the jam.
Commuters reportedly faced long delays as traffic remained gridlocked for hours, highlighting concerns over infrastructure safety and emergency response coordination in high-density urban areas.
Authorities are expected to investigate the incident and review safety protocols at construction sites to prevent such disruptions in the future.
