Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are joining forces once again for a new documentary project centered on the world of competitive sailing.

The untitled docuseries will focus on the BONDS Flying Roos, the Australian SailGP team jointly owned by Reynolds and Jackman.

The project has been officially greenlit by Disney+ and will offer viewers a behind-the-scenes look at one of the sport’s most prominent teams as it competes in the high-speed global sailing championship.

Production duties will be handled by Maximum Effort, Reynolds’ production company, in collaboration with Eureka Productions, SailGP, and the BONDS Flying Roos team.

Spotlight on SailGP

SailGP is one of the world’s fastest-growing sailing competitions, featuring national teams racing identical high-performance F50 catamarans at speeds exceeding 90 km/h. The league has attracted increasing global attention due to its combination of cutting-edge technology, elite athletes, and dramatic racing conditions.

The new series is expected to provide unprecedented access to team operations, athlete preparations, ownership decisions, and the challenges of competing at the highest level of professional sailing.

Reynolds and Jackman Reunite

The project marks another collaboration between Reynolds and Jackman, whose partnership has extended beyond their on-screen work. The duo recently enjoyed global success with Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine and have become known for their long-running friendship and playful public rivalry.

Industry observers see the docuseries as part of a broader trend of sports-focused documentaries that provide fans with intimate access to athletes and teams, similar to successful productions across Formula One, football, and golf.

The release date for the series has not yet been announced.
