Director Ranjith remanded to judicial custody in sexual assault case
Director Ranjith was arrested late last night following a sexual assault complaint filed by a young actress. The arrest stems from her allegation that he attempted to assault her at a film location. He is currently in Police custody in Thodupuzha. He was taken into custody by the Thodupuzha Police as per the instructions of the Idukki SP.
A court here on Wednesday sent noted Malayalam film director Ranjith to judicial custody after he was arrested late last night in connection with an attempted sexual assault case.
Ranjith, produced at a magistrate’s residence here, was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days, his lawyer said.
