BENGALURU: In a strategic move to bolster its technological lead in the competitive digital content landscape, VerSe Innovation—the parent company of Dailyhunt, Josh, and Oneindia—has announced the appointment of Prasanna Prasad as its Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO). The appointment, effective immediately as of April 9, 2026, marks a pivotal shift for the Indian unicorn as it doubles down on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to drive its next phase of global growth.
A Vision for AI-First Digital Platforms
As CPTO, Prasad will take charge of the company’s engineering, product development, and Data Science divisions. His primary mandate is to integrate cutting-edge AI technologies across VerSe’s entire ecosystem, including Dailyhunt, the short-video platform Josh, and the AI-driven news platform NexVerse.ai.
The company aims to leverage Prasad’s expertise to refine content recommendation engines, ensuring higher accuracy in matching content with user preferences. Furthermore, he will focus on revolutionizing the digital advertising space and empowering the creator economy through automated AI tools that enhance content discovery and monetization.
Two Decades of Global Tech Leadership
Prasanna Prasad brings over 20 years of international experience in engineering and data science. His career spans leadership roles across the United States, Europe, and India, where he has successfully scaled global tech teams.
Before joining VerSe Innovation, Prasad served as the Chief Technology Officer at Verve Group Inc. During his tenure there, he played a critical role in utilizing AI to drive exponential business growth and operational efficiency. His deep understanding of how technology bridges the gap between massive data sets and user experience is seen as a major asset for VerSe’s “Unicorn” status.
