The ongoing agitation over alleged irregularities in Jharkhand recruitment examinations entered its 14th day on Friday after discussions between the state government and student protesters failed to produce a breakthrough. The protesters have decided to continue their hunger strike and demonstrations until their key demands are fulfilled.
Among their primary demands is the cancellation of the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) examination, alleging irregularities in the recruitment process. Student leaders also warned that they would proceed with their proposed Vidhan Sabha march on August 10 if the government does not address their demands by Sunday.
The first round of negotiations was held between a 10-member delegation of the JPSC/JSSC Reforms Manch and a government panel led by Higher and Technical Education Minister Sudivya Kumar. However, the discussions ended without a resolution, leaving the standoff between the government and the protesting students unresolved.
