Tejashwi Yadav Targets Bihar Government Over Rohtas Murder Case
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has accused the BJP-led Bihar government of protecting criminals following the alleged killing of a 60-year-old man in Rohtas. Police have arrested two suspects in Uttar Pradesh in connection with the case.
PATNA: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday accused the BJP-led Bihar government of “protecting criminals” following the alleged killing of a 60-year-old man in Rohtas district.
The victim, identified as Chandreshwar Chaudhary, was allegedly shot dead on August 4 in Jogiya village after he sought payment of unpaid wages owed to his son, who worked as a farm labourer. According to officials, the body was subsequently dumped in a nearby canal and was recovered on Thursday.
Rohtas Superintendent of Police Raushan Kumar said the alleged accused, Ajit Tiwari, and his son Ritik Tiwari were arrested in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. The arrests followed the recovery of Chaudhary’s body and the ensuing investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The incident has triggered a political response, with Tejashwi Yadav targeting the state government over law and order and alleging that criminals are being protected. The police investigation into the killing is continuing.
