A 27-year-old soya chaap seller has been arrested for allegedly possessing an illegal semi-automatic pistol and three live cartridges in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka area, police officials said on Sunday.

The accused, identified as Naveen, operated a soya chaap stall near a mall in Dwarka Sector 14.

According to Delhi Police, the arrest followed an investigation triggered by social media activity linked to illegal firearms.

Officials said police received information that a juvenile from Govindpuri had uploaded photographs online while holding illegal weapons. During the probe, investigators traced connections that eventually led them to Naveen.

Police subsequently conducted an operation in the Dwarka area and recovered a semi-automatic pistol along with three live bullets from the accused’s possession.
