Security Agencies Intensify Crackdown on Banned Outfits in Manipur
Five Mobile Phones and Aadhaar Cards Recovered During Operation in Imphal West
Security forces in Manipur arrested the self-styled founder chairman and four active members of the banned insurgent outfit KCP (PWG) during an operation in Imphal West district.
According to officials, the arrests were made on May 12 from the Langol area under Lamphel police station limits in Imphal West district.
The arrested individuals were identified as Laishram Ranjit Singh, the self-styled founder chairman of the outfit, along with Oinam Somenchandra Singh, Arambam Birkumar, Maibam Tomba Singh and Chabungbam Lamnganba Meitei.
Security personnel recovered five mobile phones and three Aadhaar cards from their possession during the operation.
Officials said further investigation is underway to examine the activities of the insurgent network and identify possible links, communication channels, and operational plans connected to the banned outfit.
Security forces have intensified counter-insurgency operations across Manipur in recent months as part of efforts to curb militant activity and restore stability in the region.
