Punjab Police Seize 64.62 Kg Heroin, Two Arrested in Amritsar Drug Bust
Punjab Police on Saturday claimed to have busted a cross-border drug smuggling module in Amritsar, arresting two persons and recovering 64.62 kilograms of heroin from their possession.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said the major seizure marked a significant success for the Punjab government’s anti-drug campaign, “Yudh Nashian Virudh.”
The operation was jointly carried out by the Counter-Intelligence wing of Punjab Police and the State Special Operations Cell Amritsar. Officials said further investigation is underway to uncover the broader cross-border smuggling network.
