Police Intensify Nationwide Investigation Into NEET Irregularities
Rajasthan Police Sought Custody as Investigation Into Examination Leak Expands
Nashik Police on Tuesday detained a man in connection with the ongoing investigation into the alleged NEET examination paper leak, an official said.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Kirankumar Chauhan, the action was taken after a request was received from the Rajasthan Police seeking assistance in taking an individual into custody in relation to the NEET paper leak case.
Following the request, Nashik Police Crime Branch Unit 2 conducted an operation and apprehended the suspect. Officials said a team from Rajasthan Police is expected to arrive in Nashik soon to formally take custody of the detained individual for further investigation.
The detention comes amid a widening nationwide probe into alleged irregularities surrounding the NEET-UG 2026 examination, which was recently cancelled by the National Testing Agency after allegations of a paper leak surfaced.
The controversy has sparked major political and public outrage, with authorities across several states investigating possible links in the suspected examination malpractice network.
