The Narcotics Control Bureau, in a joint operation with Assam Rifles and Manipur Police, has seized 474 soap cases of heroin worth ₹11 crore in the illicit drug market of Churachandpur.

In a statement, the NCB said the contraband was hidden inside a fabricated cavity in a four-wheeler.

Three alleged drug traffickers, all residents of Churachandpur district, were arrested during the operation.

Officials said the heroin, weighing around 5.4 kilograms, had reportedly been sourced from Myanmar.

The bureau added that further investigation is underway to identify backward and forward linkages and dismantle the larger trafficking network operating in the region.

The agency said anti-drug operations have been intensified in Manipur due to its vulnerability to cross-border narcotics smuggling.

Citizens have also been urged to share information related to drugs through the MANAS Helpline 1933.
