FIR Filed Against Vedanta Plant Management
A criminal case has been registered against the management of Vedanta Limited and other responsible individuals following the boiler blast at a Vedanta power plant in Chhattisgarh that claimed around 20 lives.
Sakti Superintendent of Police Prafull Thakur said the preliminary investigation has confirmed elements of criminal negligence in the incident. The FIR has been lodged at Dabra Police Station under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, and the investigation is currently underway.
According to police, around 8 to 10 people have been named in the FIR so far, including company management officials, with more names likely to be added if further involvement is established during the probe.
The blast also left 15 people injured, who are undergoing treatment at various hospitals. Authorities are continuing their inquiry to determine the exact cause of the accident and fix accountability.
