The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully extradited fugitive Mohammad Navas Kakkat Ismail from the United Arab Emirates, where he was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice.

Ismail was wanted by the Delhi Police in connection with multiple charges, including extortion, cheating, criminal misappropriation, forgery, and impersonation as part of an organised crime syndicate.

Officials said he was a key conspirator in a racket that extorted money by impersonating government officials.

He was brought back to India and taken into custody upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Sunday.

The successful extradition highlights continued international cooperation in tackling organised crime and bringing fugitives to justice.
