A 47-year-old helper working at a sweets shop in central Delhi has been arrested for allegedly stealing ₹3.85 lakh from his employer, police said on Saturday.

The accused, Sanjay Sharma, a resident of Gwalior, was employed at a shop in the Chawri Bazar area.

According to officials, the incident came to light on April 29 when the shop owner filed an e-FIR reporting the theft of cash from the shop during the night.

Following an investigation, police tracked down and apprehended the accused from Gwalior. Further probe is underway to establish the full sequence of events and recover the stolen amount.

Authorities have reiterated the importance of prompt reporting through digital platforms like e-FIR to aid swift police action.
