Sustainable Entrepreneur from Gangtok Celebrated in Mann Ki Baat
Gangtok: Narendra Modi highlighted the inspiring entrepreneurial journey of Chimi Ongmu Bhutia during his Mann Ki Baat programme.
Chimi Ongmu Bhutia is known for her work in environmental sustainability and innovation. Hailing from Sikkim, she founded Lagstal Design Studio, which creates sustainable lifestyle products and modern accessories inspired by local heritage.
Following the mention in Mann Ki Baat, Sambit Patra, Raju Bista, and Dilip Jaiswal visited her studio on Sunday.
Reacting to the recognition, Chimi said she had never imagined her startup would be acknowledged at such a level and described the moment as an honour.
She added that the Prime Minister’s appreciation had boosted the confidence of entrepreneurs like her and encouraged them to dream bigger.
The recognition has drawn attention to sustainable entrepreneurship and locally inspired innovation emerging from the Himalayan region.
