Reliance Power Reports Weak Quarterly Earnings
Reliance Power has reported a consolidated net loss of ₹494 crore for the quarter ended March 31, reversing from a profit recorded during the same period last year. The company also witnessed a decline in total income during the quarter amid ongoing challenges in the power sector.
Reliance Power has posted a consolidated net loss of ₹494 crore for the quarter ended March 31, according to a regulatory filing released by the company.
In the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, the company had reported a consolidated net profit of ₹125.57 crore, indicating a significant reversal in financial performance during the latest quarter.
The company’s total income also registered a decline during the quarter under review. Total income fell to ₹1,946.33 crore compared to ₹2,065.64 crore recorded in the same period a year earlier.

The latest quarterly results reflect ongoing financial and operational pressures in the power generation sector, where companies continue to face challenges related to fuel costs, debt management, electricity demand fluctuations, and regulatory factors.
Reliance Power remains one of India’s major private sector power generation firms with interests in thermal, renewable, and hydroelectric energy projects. Industry analysts are expected to closely monitor the company’s future performance and strategies for improving profitability and operational efficiency.
