Maruti Suzuki Strengthens Output Capacity With New Plant Launch

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has commenced commercial production at the second plant of its Kharkhoda manufacturing facility, expanding its annual production capacity in India.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) on Monday announced the commencement of commercial production at the second plant of its Kharkhoda manufacturing facility in Haryana.

According to the company, the new plant has an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh units. With the addition of the second facility, the total production capacity at the Kharkhoda site has now increased to 5 lakh units annually.

MSIL stated that the latest expansion has raised the company’s total annual manufacturing capacity across all its facilities to 26.5 lakh units.

The company currently operates manufacturing plants in Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda, and Hansalpur.

The expansion comes as Maruti Suzuki continues to strengthen its manufacturing infrastructure to meet rising domestic demand and support export growth.

Industry analysts view the new production capacity as a significant step in enhancing India’s automotive manufacturing ecosystem and maintaining the company’s leadership position in the passenger vehicle market.

The Kharkhoda facility is part of Maruti Suzuki’s long-term strategy to scale up production capacity, improve operational efficiency, and support future model launches.

The company has been investing heavily in manufacturing expansion amid increasing competition and evolving demand trends in India’s automobile sector.
