Centre and Nagaland Hold High-Level Meet for MSME Growth
A high-level coordination meeting titled “MSME as Engines of Growth” was held at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat in Kohima today. Chaired by Additional Chief Secretary V. Shashank Shekhar and Ministry of MSME Secretary S.C.L. Das, the meeting aimed to break “departmental silos” and align central support with the state’s developmental priorities.
The Ministry highlighted key focus areas such as technology adoption, digitization, and industry-oriented skilling for Naga youth. A major part of the discussion revolved around the Yashasvini initiative, which aims to empower women-led enterprises in Nagaland, helping them participate in public procurement and boost the state’s GDP. The Centre has assured that issues related to marketing and export bottlenecks raised by local Naga entrepreneurs will be addressed through regular follow-up meetings. This convergence is seen as a vital step toward the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, focusing on building a modern, competitive MSME sector in the Northeast that leverages traditional Naga crafts and modern food processing techniques.
