Internet technology giant Google is exploring new investment opportunities in India focused on artificial intelligence infrastructure and advanced technology manufacturing, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Friday.
In a social media post following a meeting with company officials, Vaishnaw stated that Google is considering investments related to AI infrastructure, including the manufacturing of servers and drones in India.
The development comes shortly after Google initiated work on its USD 15 billion AI hub project in Visakhapatnam in April this year.

The proposed investments align with India’s broader push to strengthen domestic capabilities in artificial intelligence, electronics manufacturing, data infrastructure and emerging technologies.
Industry analysts believe the move could support India’s ambitions to become a major global hub for AI development, semiconductor ecosystems, cloud infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.
The focus on server production and drone manufacturing also reflects increasing demand for AI-enabled hardware, data processing infrastructure and autonomous technologies across industries.
The announcement highlights growing global technology interest in India’s digital economy and manufacturing ecosystem amid rapid expansion in AI adoption and innovation.
