India Sends Massive Disaster Relief Aid to Afghanistan

Demonstrating its “Neighborhood First” policy, India has dispatched a massive consignment of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) materials to Afghanistan this morning. The war-torn nation is currently grappling with a dual crisis of devastating flash floods and a series of powerful earthquakes that have displaced thousands of families. The aid package includes essential medicines, high-capacity tents, blankets, and water purification tablets.

The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that the first C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft carrying the relief material landed in Kabul early Monday. This gesture comes despite the complex geopolitical landscape, with India emphasizing that its commitment to the Afghan people remains unwavering. The Indian Navy’s INS Trikand is also reportedly stationed in the region to coordinate potential maritime aid routes, should the land corridors become blocked due to the ongoing West Asia hostilities.
